The owner of Café Ninety7, Sajee Barabash, has many years of Business Management experience. The opportunity to open a bright, upscale coffee shop on Main St was a dream come true for her. She has been looking for a suitable location for the last 10 years, and when the location at 97 Main St became available, she jumped at the opportunity.
Sajee wants the Café to be known for these aspects; great cup of coffee, a nice and friendly atmosphere, soothing music, homemade food and great quality. Naturally, Café Ninety7 offers a full range of Organic Fair-Trade coffees, Espresso, Cappuccino, Lattes to Caramel Macchiato, Hot Chocolate with whip cream and much more. The Café serves an extensive range of organic teas leaves as well.

They offer Smoothies, Frappuccinos and Iced coffees as cold drinks. Desserts are all home made by a local baker and brought to the café daily. Sajee is particularly proud of her soups, which are all home-made daily, and offer a variety of familiar and exotic flavors. The menu also includes an assortment of sandwiches, wraps, panini, as well as smoked salmon on a bagel.

Breakfast bagels with egg or omelet is offered all day and  the freshly made waffles with berries, banana, chocolate and maple syrup on Saturday and Sunday are a standout.
There are always vegetarian options available such as roasted vegetables (eggplant, zucchini, red pepper, red onion and pesto sauce) and spinach, feta and tomato panini. Sajee stresses that one soup and salad are always vegetarian. Café ninety7 offers a healthy special choice to students: panini and a drink for only $5.00 along with Free WiFi!

Café Ninety7 is open seven days a week from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm Saturday and 9:00am to 4:00pm Sunday. There is free parking available at the back, and the Café can accommodate up to 25 people for meetings, small parties and catering. Many artists are planning to have an exhibition for displaying their arts. We are going to have story telling night starting in October. Sajee hopes that it will become a convenient home for neighborhood groups to gather, and looks forward to meeting more of her Old Ottawa East neighbors.

Since their creation, cafes have always been more than places where people just sit around and drink coffee. A great café is more than just four walls and an espresso machine. A great café is the heartbeat of a community and this is what Café Ninety7 aims to be for Ottawa.
